Purling London Olivia Pilling Art Chess Set features 34 strikingly colored sculpture hardwood pieces.
Individually and hand-painted by England-based artist Olivia Pilling, working with acrylic, brush and resin. She describes her approach to the Art Chess pieces: “I used strong compulsive separate brushstrokes, to build layers of saturated rich color on the surface. I found inspiration in Russian Folk art with it's stylized look, strong color, pronounced use of dark black tones, and repetitive patterned detail. The resin coating was used to encapsulate the color of the surface giving the pieces a jewel-like, glistening quality.”

Made in England. 34 hand-carved, triple-weighted, boxwood chess pieces, hand-painted by Olivia Pilling and a deluxe, Black Anegre and Bird's-eye Maple board. Crafted with Black Anegre, Maple, boxwood, leather and felt. Features luxury Purling London packaging. Includes certified signed by artist.
